Robin's Hood's Chapel to Mary Magdalene is I believe is on the site of All Saint's Church at South Kirkby (Kirkby, the Norse word for Settlement of the Church) which was added to in 1260 with a Chapel of our Lady, and then rebuilt in 1470.
The Street leading to the Church is known as White Apron Street, a masonic referencing, leading to White Cross Hill, possibly referencing the Crusader Amalfi Cross of St John.
North of Kirby in Hemsworth, with a Church in honour of St Helen, lies the site of Robin Wood and nearby Jonas Rein (referencing Little John)
From the fact that Robin Hood built a chapel dedicated to Mary Magdalene shows some Templar Connection to his story, perhaps he fought in the Crusades as a bowman or had visited the Shrine to Mary Magdalene at Vezelay in France . The significance of the suppression of the Templars in 1307 clearly is significant. Temple Newsam in Leeds, which was owned by Gilbert de Lacy who owned Sherwood and Barnsdale and Anne de Lacy whose abduction sparked the Revolt of Lancaster in 1322
